According to Hindu mythology, the King of the Gods, Lord Indra, once became arrogant and proud of his powers. He believed that he was invincible and that no one could defeat him. This made the other gods, especially the sage Brihaspati, very worried. Brihaspati was the guru of the gods and was also an expert in astrology.
One day, Brihaspati decided to teach Indra a lesson. He created a beautiful horse with a golden mane and presented it to Indra, saying that the horse would make him even more powerful than he already was. Indra was delighted and thanked Brihaspati for the gift.
However, the horse was not what it seemed. It was actually a demon named Vritrasura in disguise, sent by Brihaspati to defeat Indra. Vritrasura waited until Indra was fully attached to the horse and then revealed his true form. He attacked Indra with all his might, causing the king of gods to tremble in fear.
At this point, Brihaspati stepped in and advised Indra to seek the help of the planets. He told him that each planet had a specific power that could be harnessed to defeat the demon. Indra prayed to each of the planets and asked for their help.
The planets were pleased with Indra's devotion and granted him their powers. With the help of the planets, Indra was able to defeat Vritrasura and restore order in the universe.
This story highlights the important role that astrology plays in Hindu mythology. It also emphasizes the power of devotion and the ability of humans to overcome even the strongest of adversaries with the help of the planets.
